There have been several questions about our prom attendance policy. Ms. Porter has given us the following guidance:
If a student has three or more full-day unexcused absences starting January 4th, 2017 or has outstanding fees they will not be allowed to attend prom
Q: What is the difference between a half day unexcused absence and a full day?
A: One to three unexcused class periods in one day count as a half-day absence. Four or more unexcused periods in one day count as a full day.
Homeroom attendance reports will be issued daily to homeroom teachers.
Students are responsible to clear all unexcused absences within one week. It is the student's responsibility to check with their homeroom teacher to ensure that their attendance is accurate.
Q: What if I have fees?
A: You cannot attend prom if you have outstanding fees. Please contact the cashier’s office at 444-1601.
Q: What about out of school suspensions?
A: They are a separate category. You may not have more than three days of out of school suspension. On the fourth day of school suspension you become ineligible starting January 4, 2017
