There have been several questions about our prom attendance policy. Ms. Porter has given us the following guidance:

If a student has three or more full-day unexcused absences starting January 4th, 2017 or has outstanding fees they will not be allowed to attend prom

Q: What is the difference between a half day unexcused absence and a full day?

A: One to three unexcused class periods in one day count as a half-day absence. Four or more unexcused periods in one day count as a full day.

Homeroom attendance reports will be issued daily to homeroom teachers.

Students are responsible to clear all unexcused absences within one week. It is the student's responsibility to check with their homeroom teacher to ensure that their attendance is accurate.

Q: What if I have fees?

A: You cannot attend prom if you have outstanding fees. Please contact the cashier’s office at 444-1601.

Q: What about out of school suspensions?

A: They are a separate category. You may not have more than three days of out of school suspension. On the fourth day of school suspension you become ineligible starting January 4, 2017

DHS will be administering the SAT on Wednesday, April 5th 2017.   Student attendance is critical on this day.  Please make sure you mark your calendars and be on time as the testing window is narrow.  Watch the DHS Newsletter, this website, and our social media for more information as it becomes available.

1. The Early Bird bus will run 50 minutes later for finals.

2. One breakfast will be offered before the 8:25 finals (7:50 students may enter)

3. Students who ride the bus and are waiting for a later exam will wait in the auditorium.

4. Tardy students will still be admitted for finals, but will not receive extra time.

5.Students who finish their finals will not be dismissed. They must remain for the entire exam window so that we may maintain a quiet testing environment.

6. Lunch will not be served.
